PAIA Manual

This manual is published by Plumbers On Duty in terms of section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2 of 2000 ("PAIA") and serves as a guide on how to request access to records held by Plumbers On Duty.

3. Records available without a formal PAIA request
The following information is freely available on our website:
- Public plumber listings, services, cities and articles.
- Our Privacy Policy, Terms of Use and Cookie Policy.
4. Records available in terms of other legislation
- Income Tax Act 58 of 1962.
- Value Added Tax Act 89 of 1991.
- Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.
- Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.
5. Records that may be requested under PAIA
Subject to the grounds for refusal set out in PAIA, the following categories of records may be requested:
- Records relating to a requester's own personal information held by us.
- Operational records (limited, in the form held).
- Records relating to a listing claimed or owned by the requester.
6. How to request a record
A request must be made on Form 02 (Request for Access to Record) prescribed under PAIA. The form is available on the Information Regulator's website. Completed requests should be emailed to hello@plumberonduty.co.za.
We will respond within 30 days. Fees prescribed under the PAIA Regulations may apply for non-personal requests.
7. Grounds for refusal
Access may be refused on grounds set out in Chapter 4 of Part 3 of PAIA, including (without limitation): protection of third-party personal information, commercial information of third parties, confidential information, safety of individuals, legal privilege and protection of research information.
8. Remedies
A requester who is dissatisfied with a decision may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator or approach a court for appropriate relief.
